
Baked Rice Bolognese

Bring a large amount of salted water to a boil. Add the rice and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain carefully and set aside.

In a large pan or sauté pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Finely chop the onion and sauté it with the chopped garlic until translucent.

Add the ground beef and brown it, breaking it up with a spatula. Incorporate the tomato puree, tomato paste, herbes de Provence and paprika. Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a large bowl, mix the cooked rice with half of the bolognese sauce. Pour this preparation into a buttered baking dish.

Spread the remaining sauce on top and generously sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is well melted and golden. Serve immediately.

- To prevent rice from sticking, add a tablespoon of oil to the cooking water
