In a large bowl, work the softened butter and sugar with a mixer or spatula until you get a creamy and slightly whitened mixture. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mix until fully incorporated.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt over the mixture. Add the oat flakes. Gently incorporate using a spatula until you form a homogeneous dough but not overworked.

Wash and gently dry the fresh blueberries. Incorporate them into the dough by gently coating them without crushing them to prevent their juice from coloring the dough too much.

Cover the dough and place it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. This step allows the butter to firm up and facilitates shaping.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Form balls of 40-45 g (about 2 tablespoons). Place them on a baking sheet with parchment paper, spacing them 5 cm apart. Flatten slightly with your palm.

Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are golden but the center is still pale and soft. Remove from the oven even if they seem undercooked.

Let rest for 2 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a rack to cool completely.
