
Minced Chicken with Cheese and Potatoes Casserole

Cooking the chicken: In a pan, heat the olive oil. Sauté the onion for 2-3 minutes, then add the garlic. Add the minced chicken, salt, pepper, paprika and thyme. Cook while crumbling the meat well until golden brown. Set aside.

Sauce preparation: In a saucepan, mix the cream, milk, a pinch of nutmeg (optional), salt and pepper. Heat gently without boiling, then add half of the grated cheese. Mix until completely melted. Set aside.

Assembly in casserole: Preheat the oven to 180°C (convection). In an oven-safe casserole, arrange a layer of potato slices. Add a layer of minced chicken. Pour some sauce. Repeat the layers until ingredients are used up. Finish with potatoes and remaining sauce. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top.

Cooking: Cover the casserole with a lid or aluminum foil. Bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and let gratin for another 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

- For a more pronounced flavor, add a little mustard to the sauce.
- Incorporate spinach or sautéed mushrooms for more vegetables.
- For an even crispier version, sprinkle some breadcrumbs with the gratin cheese.
